Description About the Composer

(10 Brass including Tuba) If Coltrane played Christmas carols, they might sound something like this! Modal harmonies support the 'A' section of the melody, while the bridge utilizes the Giant Steps cycle. A clever saxophone soli features an unexpected quote. Flugel solos on the modal section, while tenor gets the nod on Giant Steps in 3/4! Ensemble development section is reminiscent of Kenton. Lead alto plays soprano throughout.
