PARIS RUTHERFORD is a member of the Jazz Studies faculty at the University of North Texas where he directs the UNT Jazz Singers, and teaches courses in jazz arranging, vocal jazz arranging and music for broadcast and film. The Jazz Singers have performed numerous times for the International Association for Jazz Education and other national organizations and were declared "Best in the Nation" for four consecutive years in the Down Beat Student Award Competitions. Prior to UNT, he composed and produced music for film and advertising in Dallas, Los Angeles, and London. His vocal jazz arrangements are heard on eleven UNT albums and are found in libraries of many of the vocal jazz programs in the country and abroad. Rutherford is a member of the International Association for Jazz Education Resource Team and a former member of the Dallas Symphony Orhcestra.
