STEVE TYLER served for four years as Director of Instrumental Music at the School for Music Vocations, Southwestern Community College, in Creston, Iowa and previously taught on the faculty at the Dick Grove School of Music in Studio City, CA, and at Los Angeles City College. He earned his bachelor's degree at California State University, Northridge, and a Master of Music in Jazz Studies at the University of Southern California. He has toured as the lead trombonist for the orchestras of Mel Torme, Bill Watrous and Harry James and worked for many years as a freelance musician in the Hollywood entertainment industry. Mr. Tyler is a trombone artist/clinician for the Conn Division of United Musical Instruments USA, Inc. He and his family currently reside in the San Francisco Bay Area where he is active as a musician, composer, arranger, clinician and educator.
