(8 Brass) (Level 4) A contemporary big band fusion piece with a Metheny flavor to it. This tune won the most outstanding original composition award at the 1988 Notre Dame Jazz Festival. Features a piano solo and a challenging rhythm section soli.

EVAN REA received a bachelor of music degree (cum laude) from Northern Illinois University. While there, as keyboardist of the top NIU Jazz Ensemble, he toured with Louis Bellson, Clark Terry and others. In 1988, he received a Notre Dame Collegiate Jazz Festival award for his composition Drifting. His compositions have won the attention of nationally renowned jazz artists and have been in demand by all three of NIU's jazz ensembles. Evan has performed with various groups in the Chicago area.
