PAUL READ is Director of Jazz Studies at the University of Toronto. Prior to his appointment to the University in 1991, he was Director of Music at Humber College in Toronto. He is a multi-instrumentalist who freelances on saxophone, flute, piano and synthesizers and is a published author, arranger and composer of instrumental and vocal music. Besides earning degrees in music and education at the University of Toronto, he attended Berklee College of Music in Boston where he studied saxophone with Joe Viola and arranging with Ted Pease. He also studied arranging and composition with Gordon Delamont and John Beckwith.
