Description About the Composer

(8 Brass) This is a tenor trombone feature in a jazz standard ballad style (AABA form, key of F). The approach is lyrical and fresh. Instead of an open solo section, the improvisation is woven into a simple through-composed 2 1/2-chorus structure. Originally the tune was improvised by the composer at a solo gig. No doubles. Recorded by the University of Miami's Concert Jazz Band on Jentsch's Miami Suite CD.
