Description About the Composer

(Level IV) Don Ellis' "After An Autumn Rain" is a quiet, impressionistic piece that displays many unusual colors and textures. Relatively easy on paper, this piece will showcase your ensemble's ability to play with subtlety and finesse. There is opportunity for short solos for Alto Saxophone and Flugel. This was Don's last composition for big band and has been added to the Don Ellis Critical Edition (Critical Editor Nick Di Scala) selections. 8 Brass w/ Tpt. double on Flugel
