(Level IV) This arrangement of the Claudio Roditi original is a Brazilian samba that can feature a variety of soloists. Changes are in trumpet and tenor parts. The head is played by trombone and tenor and then moves into some exciting ensemble sections. An orchestrated horn soli section a la Mintzer rounds out this great Latin rhythm piece. 8 Brass

DARMON MEADER graduated from Ithaca College (New York) with a Bachelor of Music degree. He has achieved international recognition as the founder, musical director, chief arranger, saxophonist and vocalist with the New York Voices, an extremely successful vocal quintet. With three successful New York Voices albums released on the GRP Records label, and constant tour activities with the group at the major concert and festival venues throughout the United States, Japan and Europe, Darmon is now critically acclaimed as among the premier "scat" singers and saxophone soloists in jazz today. Currently residing in New York City, Darmon is increasingly busy between his tour commitments with the New York Voices, serving as a university clinician as well as a saxophonist, arranger and vocalist in New York recording studios.
