(8 Brass) (Level 4) A swinging arrangement of Phil Wood's homage to Benny Carter, My Man Benny was premiered by the Eastman Jazz Ensemble with Phil Woods as soloist. It is a terrific feature for lead alto. There is ample space for the soloist and challenging lines for the ensemble. The shout chorus is lifted from Phil's recording of the tune on the CD, All Bird's Children.
