(Level 4) A bossa-like Broadley original, this has been a favorite of high school vocal groups. It requires a soft delivery (not unlike that of Sergio Mendes and Brazil '66). Male and female voices trade lines moving in fourths and end together in lush four-part harmony. The "hook" of the tune climbs to a mezzo forte but the climax of the tune does not call for much more volume than a slight, sudden roar. Soothing and easy on audiences' ears. SATB with rhythm section, percussion.

SHARON BROADLEY was the lead vocalist and principal composer/arranger for the Boston-based vocal group, The Ritz. She has performed at the Sea-Jazz Festival in Helsinki, the Montreal Jazz Festival in Canada, the Newport Jazz Festival in Madarao, Japan and the Jazz A Vienne Festival with the Count Basie Orchestra in France to name a few. Sharon has recorded six albums: Flying (1989), The Spirit of Christmas (1989), Movin' Up (1988), The Ritz-Live to Two Trac (1987), Born to Bop (1985) and Steppin' Out (1984). She was a featured clinician at the 1985 NAJE Convention in Atlanta, Georgia and has since been adjudicating and preparing fresh, exciting material for clinics around the country.
