This arrangement of the German carol, Still, Still, Still, strives to present the lovely text in a warm, gentle manner. Beginning with the first verse of this strophic work, the men and women alternate between the unison melody and a seventh chord accompaniment. Transition to the second verse moves from the traditional duple meter to triple meter in a "bell-like" pattern reminiscent of the early Puerling arrangements and continues the accompaniment while the sopranos sing the verse in German. Returning to duple meter, the final verse broadens with a ground bass type figure below the melody and ends with a gentle quote of Silent Night by the men. SATB a cappella.

DR. JANE E. ANDREWS is presently Associate Professor of Music at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa where she directs the Castle Singers (jazz choir), St. Elizabeth Chorale (women's choir), teaches music methods courses and supervises choral student teachers. Her involvement with vocal jazz dates to the early 1970's when she taught in the public schools in Greeley and Boulder, Colorado. Her choral gorups have toured throughout the United States, the Caribbean, Europe and Australia. She earned a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from the Conservatory of Music at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, a Master of Music Degree from Colorado State University and a bachelor's degree from the University of Northern Colorado
