RICH MATTESON was the Koger Distinguished Professor of American Music at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville. While there, he developed one of the finest jazz education programs in the world. Prior to this, Rich was Professor of Jazz Improvisation for 13 years at North Texas State University. His contributions to the world of jazz education have had a major impact on students and teachers world wide.
