(Level III) This SATB setting is a lush and easy listening version of this pretty tune. The voicings are balanced and relatively square, so it's a good arrangement to work on tuning your group and getting the voicings to ring and buzz in the appropriate spots. It's a relatively short AABB form and a perfect song for a pensive a cappella moment in your program.
BOB MARTIN is a singer and bass player hailing from the Boston area. As a singer, he recorded three CDs for Nippon/Columbia/DENON while with the Boston based jazz vocal group The Ritz. The Ritz toured the U.S., Europe and Japan extensively, appearing in such festivals as the Newport Jazz Festival in Madarao, Japan and the Jazz a Vienne festival in France, opening for the Count Basie Orchestra. He has written extensively for TTBB cross-voiced a cappella groups. He continues to perform in the Boston area as a bass player and also performs in a piano, bass, voice jazz duo with his wife, Sharon Broadley-Martin. He attended Berklee College of Music, where he studied with Charlie Sorrento, Bob Stoloff, and Dr. Steven Prosser.
