Description About the Composer   Liquid Descent - (Level IV) An original composition inspired by driving into the Colorado Rocky Mountains on I-70 for a day of skiing. The first alto, second alto, and third tenor saxophones open up the chart on clarinets imitating traffic sounds. Then the chart breaks out into a funk section. Solos are written for first trombone and guitar. Liquid Descent was selected for the Young Composers Showcase at the 2018 Jazz Education Network Conference. 8 Brass View all charts by Greg Weis Greg Weis is a jazz composer, arranger, trumpet player, and educator from St. Louis, Missouri.He is currently a doctoral jazz student and teaching assistant at the University of NorthernColorado. His arrangement of “Upper Manhattan Medical Group” was performed at the 2017JEN Conference, and two of his compositions are featured on the All Angles Orchestra’s debut album called New Angle.
