(9 Brass) with 5th Trumpet as the featured soloist. This composition, originally written for Vincent DiMartino, borrows from the standard Autumn Leaves. The piece begins with contrasting tempos, but breaks into a straight adead swing with modern touches. Solo part includes an improvisable cadenza.

DAVID PEOPLES has enjoyed varied success as a composer and arranger. He has composed for artists such as Chris Vadala, Mike Fahn, Jon Mayer, Rufus Reid, Roy McCurdy, Vincent DiMartino, Gary Foster and Lori Andrews. His arrangement of Michael Brecker's NEVER ALONE, won him the 2006/07 International Jazz Arranging Competition and was performed by the Jazz Surge in a tribute to Michael and his music. David has composed for collegaiate and high school ensembles, as well as extensive writings for chamber ensembles and wind ensembles. Originally from Southern California, he resides in the Memphis area where he continues to write.
