(Level IV) "Winter Echoes" features the lyric potentials of the jazz ensemble, employing brass choir, flute, and piano solos. The introduction yields to an extended fast and exciting section, using an odd-meter Latin groove with a swing bridge. Ends slow and tranquil, as it began. The University of Michigan Jazz Ensemble, Northcoast, on their CD First Flight recorded this work.
