(Level 4) Straight-ahead fast swing (samba on bridge). Difficult melody line for trumpet and tenor sax. Solos for trumpet, trombone, soprano and piano. Technically demanding shout chorus. The Epilogue is slow, with soprano and piano only and is a major version of the minor Prologue of the first movement.

SCOTT WHITFIELD completed the Master of Music degree in jazz studies at North Texas State University. Scott recorded several of his arrangements with the One O'Clock Lab Band as well as with the Collection Jazz Orchestra. His recording of GDay, Mates! is well known in the U.K. Scott has performed and/or recorded withmany artisits, including: Nat Adderley, Nick Brignola, Carl Fontanta, Sam Rivers, The Spinners, Mel Torme, Clark Terry, Barry Manilow and the Toshiko Akiyoshi Jazz Orchestra. Mr. Whitfield currently resides in Manhattan and works as a freelance trombone player.
