(8 Brass) (Level 4) This is a high energy, hard-bop swing chart. The baritone sax and trumpet are the featured soloists and the ensemble provides the foundatin with a lot of hard driving ensemble work (includes sub parts for tenor solo). This piece was a staple of the Navy Commodores book in the mid 1990's Commissioned by Tony Leonardi for the Younstown State University Alumni Jazz Ensemble and recorded by the group on Celebration.

MIKE KAMUF is a free-lance trumpeter, composer and arranger based in the Washington D. C./Baltimore area. He has performed with the Woody Herman and Tommy Dorsey Orchestras and has had his compositions and arrangements performed by several top jazz artists and ensembles including Eddie Daniels, Bill Watrous, Nick Brignola, Terrel Stafford, the Woody Herman Orchestra, and the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra. Mike has served on the jazz faculty of both Youngstown State University (Youngstown, OH) and Montgomery College (Rockville, MD). He is currently the Director of Bands at John T. Baker Middle School in Damascus, Maryland, the Director of the Montgomery County Public Schools (Maryland) Senior Honors Jazz Band and Secretary of the Maryland Chapter of the International Association of Jazz Educators.
