After the solo, a unison line starts in the rhythm section, then bones, then trumpets (a la Catingub's Blues and the Abscessed Tooth). This leads into a sax soli, followed by a rousing shout chorus, and leads to a climax with a modulation. No doubles. 9 Brass

CHRIS CULVER directs jazz ensembles and teaches music theory and composition at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama. He has appeared as a guest soloist, clinician and adjudicator at many high school and college jazz festivals throughout the United States. Culver received his Bachelor of Music degree from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon and both his master's and doctorate in music theory and composition from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado. Dr. Culver also has compositions published by the International Trombone Association Manuscript Press and Kagarice Brass Editions.
