Description About the Composer
 
Original composition commissioned in 2003 by the Grand Junction Symphony and the Western Colorado Jazz Orchestra to feature a piano soloist. Featured soloists are drums, trumpet and alto sax; it is two movements in one piece. First half is a modal AABA and the second half is a fast 3/4 time based on the same sort of chord changes as the first half. Driving shout chorus takes it to the end. 5 Saxes, 4 Trumpets, 4 Trombones, Violin I, Violin II, Viola, Cello, Bass, Piano, Bass and Drums.
