This lead alto feature also showcases the sax section in a medium-tempo groove. The bari plays a fun, independent bass line as the other saxes pass the melody. A great piece if you have the players. Scored for two altos, two tenors and a bari.

ERIC SKIDMORE began composing as an undergraduate at Washington State University. A student of composer, Greg Yasinitksy, he won the instrumental composition contest at the 1999 Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival with his first big band chart, B. J. He has continued writing for various ensembles and has developed as a bilingual lyricist. His recent composition for jazz choir, Bailemos!, features an original Spanish text. He also did translation work on the recent Bubha Thomas CD, It's All About Style. Skimore has toured the United States and Canada playing saxophone and keyboards. He has worked with several high schools in the Northwest as a guest artist and clinician and currenlty teaches at Hillcrest High School in Idaho Falls, ID.
