(8 Brass) Revival is an original composition in a gospel-rock feel. It features the brass in a chorale-like statement of the theme, and the saxophones in a bluesy ensemble passage near the end. The solo is written for Tenor 1. The rhythms, although tricky, are repetitive enough that once learned they are easy.

JAMES GREESON is the Director of the Jazz Studies Program at the University of Arkansas where he also teaches music theory and guitar. His jazz charts have been performed at the Telluride Jazz Festival and Clark Terry Jazz Camp. He holds a doctorate in music composition from the University of Wisconsin. He has performed as a jazz guitarist with Rob McConnell, Ed Soph and Gary Foster.
