Description About the Composer

(8 Brass) A soulful, bluesy composition written in the style of jazz legend, Charles Mingus. The slow groove and 12/8 feel of the tune are reminiscent of Mingus' classic Goodbye Pork Pie Hat. The arrangement features call and response figures between sections of the band and solos for tenor saxophone and bass. Playable by advance high school or college jazz ensembles. Written for eight brass, five saxophone (with soprano lead), piano, bass and drums.
