ALBERTO DE LA REGUERA was born in Havana, Cuba. He studied classical composition at Florida State University and attended the University of Miami studying jazz composition and arranging with Ron Miller and Gary Lindsay. Mr. Reguera was the musical director, composer and arranger for a number of musicals in San Juan Puerto Rico including two original productions. He has also written television and radio jingles. In 1993, he created the University of Miami Salsa Orchestra, a 25-piece big band which includes singers and instrumentalists from the University's Jazz Prograrm. Alberto is currently employed as as librarian at the University of Miami Music Library. In addition, he continues to compose and arrange music for the Salsa Orchestra as well as Latin bands in the Miami area.
