A progressive, modernist jazz waltz. Changes and lines have a contemporary edge. Instrumentation includes trumpet, alto flute, tenor saxophone, keyboard, fretless bass and drums. Highest trumpet note is concert F. Character of the piece is mellow and contemplative.

CHARLES ARGERSINGER is the composer-in-residence at Washington State University in Pullman, Washington. He was active in the recording scene in Chicago where he performed on saxophone and piano. For several years he was the International Association of Jazz Educators international chairman of jazz composition and arranging.
