Three Blind Mice, by Kerry Marsh
Written for Irving McArthur High School, an unlikely vocal jazz tune works really well as a half-comical/half-serious jazz arrangement in a up-tempo swing feel. Some hades (and one total quote) of Darmon Meader's chart on Oh, Lady Be Good for New York Voices and some new lyric that play with the original idea. A cool bass line is reminiscent of Wes Montgomery's Four on Six. A soli section, a drum solo, a combination of wordless vocal and new lyric...all make this chart unique, interesting and a blast to sing! SATB with rhythm section.

My Old Kentucky Home, Good Night, by Yumiko Matsuoka

One of the Stephen Foster evergreens, this arrangement starts with male unison, then develops into a rich close harmony with some twists here and there. Followed by a short baritone solo, it builds up to a beautiful climax with a key change, and a calm, pensive ending. An excellent showcase for a strong small group. Recorded on Vox One's eponymous debut album. SATBB a cappella.

Entropical Paradise, by Eric Richards

(9 Brass) (Level 5) This tour de force is one of Eric's finest compositions. A very challenging chart featuring both trumpet and trombone solos. A songo type feel alternating with another Latin groove. Challenging changes--a chart for only strong bands. Recorded on UNC's Alive XV.
