Originally written for University of Natal's (South Africa) NU Voices, this piece is based on a catchy quartal harmony ostinato in a Latin groove. The melody is very singable and contains lyrics of "hope and coming together." Features a female soloist and improvisation opportunities for voice and instruments. SATB with rhythm section.

MITOS ANDAYA, a native of Seattle, Washington, is a graduate of the University of Northern Colorado where she co-founded and later directed the nationally acclaimed Down Beat award winning female jazz quartet Sus4. Mitos has performed with Carl Anderson, Sunny Wilkinson, and was a member of the Darius Brubeck Quintet. She taught choral music in Colorado public schools, vocal jazz at Northern Arizona University, and has also served as a clinician both nationally and internationally. Mitos was a lecturer at the University of Natal in Durban, South Africa, where she started the first South African university vocal jazz ensemble, NU Voices. She currently is teaching at the University of Adelaide in Australia.
