(Level 5) This six-voice arrangement of the well-known Johnny Mandel tune features a vocalese dialogue between the tenor and (2nd) soprano. The rubato a cappella first chorus is followed by accompanied vocalese solos and a climatic "shout" chorus in a driving 3/4 feel. SSATTB with rhythm section.

SKIP WILKINS is from Boston where he led numerous ensembles whose members included percussionists Bob Moses and Joe Hunt, and saxophonists John Laporta and Jimmy Mosher. After completing a degree at Holy Cross College, Skip studied jazz composition and arranging at Berklee College of Music, where he later taught. He completed a master's degree at the University of Northern Colorado where he was a teaching assistant in the Jazz Studies Program. He then stayed on as full-time staff at the University of Northern Colorado in the Theory/Composition Department and the Jazz Studies Program.
