This jazz standard will serve as a great introduction to a medium-tempo swing feel! The chart contains a good mixture of unisons, two-part and four-part writing. There is a short solo toward the beginning of the chart. After some room for vocal/instrumental improvisation, the chart progresses to a great soli section with horn-like melodic lines and articulations. JEREMY FOX earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano/Jazz Studies from Western Michigan University. He later earned a master's degree in Studio Jazz Writing from the University of Miami while teaching classes for their renowned jazz program. Jeremy's charts have been sung and recorded by such groups as Gold Company and GCII from Western Michigan, Singcopation from Mount San Antonio College, Form from the University of Edmonton, Soundsation from Kirkwood Community College, Estetica from Lincoln High School and Miami's JV1. From 1999-02, he received eight awards from Downbeat Magazine including ones for: Jazz Song, Jazz Arrangement, Studio Engineering, and for his Small Vocal Group, Emerge. Jeremy Fox is currently a faculty member at the School for Music Vocations in Creston, Iowa where he teaches with Phil Mattson and Jason Smith. He is active serving as a clinician and conducting workshops.
