Sonny Rollins' great blues head, combined with lyrics by vocal jazz icon Waldo King, provide the framework for this arrangement. Designed to be learned in a few short rehearsals, this arrangement is a perfect vehicle for improvisation, both vocal and instrumental. SATB with rhythm section.

KIRK MARCY is currently the head of the Jazz Studies Program at Edmonds Community College, where he directs the internationally acclaimed vocal jazz ensemble Soundsation, as well as teaching Music Fundamentals, Jazz History, and Vocal Jazz Solo Singing classes. Kirk has also taught both instrumental and vocal music at the junior and senior high school levels in the Lake Washington School District in Kirkland, Washington. Kirk's performing experience includes singing bass vocals and playing keyboards and brass for the Four Freshmen, and more recently, singing with a new a cappella group, Just 4 Kicks. In 1983, Kirk received his Bachelor of Music Education degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Northern Colorado, where he was a member of UNC Vocal Jazz I.
