A sensitive treatment of Christmas favorite, for soprano and tenor solos and SATB chorus. Surprising harmonic twists begin with a modal treatment of the theme in the dorian, a bell-tone choral accompaniment of the solos in the second verse, and an increasingly jazz-oriented harmonic treatment of the last verse ending in a surprising climax, as the piece winds its way back to major mode. Not only a joy to hear, but very satisfying to perform. SATB a cappella.

RICH MANNERS has two degrees in composition from Chicago Musical College. He is the president of Renaissance Productions in Chicago and has composed music for commercials and films for the past 23 years. His commissioned works include a violin concerto for the Chicago Symphony and both jazz and traditional music written for the King's Singers. He was also a faculty member at Chicago Musical College teaching courses in jingle and film music production.
