This Brazilian waltz pays tribute to the classic Elis Regina/Tom Jobim recording. It includes a major solo vocal feature in Portuguese and a clarinet solo. The vocal writing is tight but singable. A great chart for collaboration with jazz orchestra. JED SCOTT is an alumnus of the University of Miami with Master of Music Degree in Studio Jazz Writing. While there, he studied compositon and arranging with Gary Lindsay, Larry Lapin and Ron Miller. He received bachelor degrees in music and Latin from Western Michigan University where he studied with Steve Zegree, Diana Spradling, Trent Kynaston and Tom Knific and sang for three years with the internationally recognized vocal jazz group, Gold Company. In additon to arranging and singing, he is active as a recording engineer with a number of albums to his credit including three acclaimed albums for Gold Company and a thirty-minute suite with jazz composer Maria Schneider as well as several nationally distributed works for Hal Leonard Press. He received back-to-back Downbeat Awards for "Best Jazz Arrangment" (2003,2004) and an award for "Outstanding Performance in Studio Engineering" (2002). He currently resides in Grosse Pointe, Michigan.
