He is a graduate of the High School of Music and Art in New York City and Berklee College of Music in Boston. In addition to his teaching at Berklee, he has performed with many notable artists including The Ritz and Deborah Henson-Conant and made appearances at several jazz festivals such as North Sea, Montreal and Umbria. As a music educator, Bob's approach to teaching vocal improvisation is unique in that it first emphasizes rhythmic balance of specific syllables with syncopated figures. His technique also includes free improvisation or what he calls "spontaneous group composition." Bob's first album, Impressions, has just been completed and is released on Tortoise Shell Records.
