(Level III) As the name suggests, this is a slow, delicate tune. The harmonies, melodies, and textures are very adventuresome and are intended to create the feeling of taking a nap in bright sunshine. Most of the piece is in a slow 5/4 meter, and the counting is a bit tricky. Woodwind doubles: Reed 1 (clarinet/soprano sax); Reed 2 (clarinet/tenor sax); Reed 3 (bass clarinet/bari sax); trumpets double on flugelhorn. 4 Brass, 3 Sax

ALAN D. NEVEU is a native of Portland, Maine. He earned a B.M. in saxophone performance from the University of Southern Maine and an M.M. as a Writing Skills major in the Jazz Studies and Contemporary Media Department at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. While at Eastman, he played in and recorded with the Eastman Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Fred Sturm. Alan also recorded and toured Germany with Dr. Ramon Ricker's Eastman based group, Saxology. He currently resides in Rochester and is teaching at the First Bible Baptist Church School of Music in Greece, NY.
