UNC Jazz Press

(Level 5) (Trumpet, Tenor Sax., Trombone, Rhythm) This upbeat piece was commissioned by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Jazz Combo I for the 2008 UNC/Greeley Jazz Festival. It is an exciting contemporary concert piece generally built over a funky mixed meter (6+7). The piece features trumpet, tenor saxophone, and trombone.

Jeff Richmond is a composer/arranger, conductor, and trumpeter active in a diverse range of musical styles and idioms. He currently serves as Assistant Professor of Music at Gardner-Webb University in North Carolina.  His jazz, concert and chamber music has been performed and recorded by numerous professional and academic ensembles and he performs as a jazz trumpeter both nationally and internationally.  Jeff has studied jazz composition with both Chuck Owen and Eric Richards.   He holds a BM, MM, and DMA in composition/jazz.
