(8 Brass) If you have soloists on alto saxophone and flugelhorn that are looking for a challenge, here is a contemporary samba for you! This chart spotlights the alto saxophone and flugelhorn in a fresh and lyrical duet before setting them loose on some tricky solo changes. After a fiery brass and flugelhorn-saxophone section soli exchange, the duet returns before an ensemble climax and mellow half-time ending.

DAVID GIBBLE, trumpeter and arranger/composer, is currently Associate Professor of Music at Palm Beach Community College where he directs the instrumental music and jazz programs. He hold a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from West Chester University (PA) and a Master of Music from the University of Northern Texas in Jazz Studies where he played with the award-winning One O'Clock Lab and Two O'Clock Lab Bands. Mr. Gibble performs all over South Florida as a freelance trumpeter appearing regularly with Duffy Jackson and His Swinging New Big Band, the Bob Hoose Orchestra and the Jazz Rats Big Band as well as with the Brass Renaissance Quintet.
