(10 Brass) This is a mid-tempo chart with a long melody and a long development section. The harmonic vocabulary includes many suspended chords, Lydian chords, pedal points and chords over changed bass notes. Solos are for tenor sax and guitar with the guitar part an essential part of the texture. There is a soli for four saxes, flugelhorn and guitar. The overall flavor is cool and dark as opposed to fiery and light.

After seeing the Beatles lip-sync Hey Jude on The Ed Sullivan Show, KEVIN BRUNKHORST begged enough to get his first guitar for Christmas at age 9. Later, he took clarinet lessons and played in the school concert band. After high school, he attended the Uiversity of North Texas where he studied jazz guitar with Jack Petersen and earned a Bachelor of Music in Composition in 1987. He then worked for eight years in the music industry. In 2001, went back to the University of North Texas. He spent two years in the famous One O'Clock Lab Band which recorded two of his charts. He also directed the L-5 Electric Guitar Ensemble. Upon earning a Master of Music in Jazz Studies in 2004 from UNT, Kevin was hired by St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia where he teaches jazz guitar, arranging, composition and music technology as well as directing two guitar ensembles.
