(8 Brass) Written with shuffle master Duffy Jackson in mind, this Thad Jones-County Basie style, 24-bar blues is an excellent blowing vehicle for your trumpet and alto saxophone soloists. It also contains some interesting ensemble sections that set up the solosts and provide background figures. This chart gradually builds toward a climax end with the soloists playing over top of a swinging, but powerful ensemble. Features: Trumpet, alto saxophone and drum solos.

DAVID GIBBLE, trumpeter and arranger/composer, is currently Associate Professor of Music at Palm Beach Community College where he directs the instrumental music and jazz programs. He hold a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from West Chester University (PA) and a Master of Music from the University of Northern Texas in Jazz Studies where he played with the award-winning One O'Clock Lab and Two O'Clock Lab Bands. Mr. Gibble performs all over South Florida as a freelance trumpeter appearing regularly with Duffy Jackson and His Swinging New Big Band, the Bob Hoose Orchestra and the Jazz Rats Big Band as well as with the Brass Renaissance Quintet.
