Pianist, composer and educator, MIKE HOLOBER has performed and recorded with The Stockholm Jazz Orchestra, The Village Vanguard Orchestra, Nick Brignola, Dave Pietro, Charles Pillow, Pete McGuinness, Fundementia, Chuck Bergeron, Randy Brecker, John Abercrombie, Tim Hagans, Peter Erskine and others. His music has been performed by the RIAS Big Band in Berlin, The Stockholm Jazz Orchestra, The Village Vanguard Orchestra, The BBC Jazz Orchestra, The American Saxophone Quartet and the Prism Saxophone Quartet. His recordings as a leader include CANYON, with Tim Ries, Wolfgang Muthspiel, Scott Colley and Brian Blade, and THOUGHT TRAINS witht The Gotham Jazz Orchestra. Mike is an assistant professor at The City College of NY where he directs jazz ensembles and teaches jazz composition, arranging and rhythm section seminar. He is a recent MacDowell Fellow.
