(8 Brass) A big band chart with a mysterious African and funky groove filled with opportunities to use instrumental colors. There is instrumental doubling in the saxophone and trumpet sections and use of mutes throughout. A unique expression of mood and groove! Alto 1 and 2, Tenor 1 and 2 double on Flute. Trumpet 1-4 double on flugelhorn.

JUDY ASHLEY is presently developing a Jazz Program at Brooklyn Technical High School in Brooklyn, New York. She previously taught at St. Francis Xavier University, Nova Scotia; Concordia University, Montreal, Quebec; St. Joseph's College, Brooklyn, New York. Ms. Ahsley earned a Master of Music Degree in Jazz Pedagogy from the University of Miami, Florida and has completed course work towards a doctoral degree in composition focusing on Jazz and electronic music at New York University. Having composed and arranged for large and small jazz ensembles, vocal and dance groups, and musical plays, Ms. Ashley freelances as a composer/arranger and keyboard player in New York.
