(8 Brass) (Level 4) Up-tempo treatment of rhythm changes beginning with an open trumpet and drum exchange. The head is a tricky bop line played by the piano and bass (it isn't easy), and the second time by tenor and trumpet. Also has solo space for drums and piano.

JOHN SALERNO is an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay where he teaches woodwinds, jazz classes and directs the annual UWGB Jazz Festival. He received both his bachelor's and master's degrees from UWGB and completed his Doctor of Arts degree at the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in composition/theory and a secondary emphasis in Jazz Pedagogy. As a performer, John has toured with The Spinners, The Jackson 5, and performed with Engelbert Humperdinck, The Four Ladds, Mills Brothers, Bob Hope and others. John is also active as a clinician and adjudicator, judging at many jazz festivals and performing as a guest artist throughout the United States.
