Description About the Composer
 
(8 Brass) (Level 4) The International Association of Jazz Educators selected this piece as the winner of the "Best Original Big Band Composition" in 1988. This medium slow waltz is coupled with an Afro-Cuban 9/8 section which makes up the form of the piece. Soprano sax (for tenor1) and trumpet solo over the Afro-Cuban vamp. Very fresh harmonic material makes this a unique piece for any concert.
