Description About the Composer
 

(Level III) This is medium swing blues, written to capture to essence of the 1950s Count Basie Orchestra, is appropriate for high school groups as well as college and professional bands.  It features solos for piano, lead alto, and lead trombone.  This chart could easily be opened up for extended solos.  Hey Momma’ Blues includes a sax soli and contrast-ing ensemble shout sections which build to an exciting finish.
