Prelude to Act III - Die Meistersinger von Nornberg (SC-15), by Ward Swingle
(Richard Wagner) This arrangement is dedicated to a trombonist friend of mine, Ned Meredith, former trombonist with the San Francisco Symphony. After some hesitation, I wrote this arrangement for four trombones pretty much as though I were writing for four men's voices.

Weekend at Yale, by Mike Bogle
This is a lush trombone ensemble piece with chordal structure similar to Autumn Leaves. It is dedicated to John Swallow, retired professor of trombone at Yale University, and has Third Stream influences or classical undercurrents. Trombones are featured a cappella at the beginning and are eventually joined by the rhythm section for a driving, straight-ahead excursion through the venerable streets of New Haven--in the rain, of course!
